HIS 56 Prince Albert 1819-61
HIS 56 Prince Albert 1819-61
Married to Queen Victoria. 2 page letter with crown crest to top left. " My Dear Lord Lyndhurst , I understand that the living of East Farleigh in Yorkshire , which is in your gift , if not actually vacant will almost immediately be so by the death of the present incumbent . It would be very gratifying to the Queen & myself if you could present the present Vicar of Walmer, Mr Wilberforce to this Preferment. We availed ourselves of his services whilst we were at Walmer Castle but our principle reason for wishing it done is to gratify his brother Archdeacon S Wilberforce , who is very anxious to adjust his brother & is particularly interested in this living from it's having been held by another brother ( Robert Wilberforce ) who impressed the House & made it what it is . If you can do it we shall be very much obliged to you,. Believe me always truly Albert , Claremont January 15 1843 " Together with guest list March 1839 , compiled by the Prince on his travels in Italy . Plus portrait engraving . Lord Lyndhurst was the Lord Chancellor .
