Best known for appearing as the main villain's henchman, Gobinda, in the James Bond movie Octopussy and for his role as Sandokan in the mega-hit TV series broadcast across Europe and most of the Spanish speaking world.

Father of talk show host Pooja Bedi and actor Adam Bedi.

Voted the most eligible bachelor of the year by Cosmopolitan in 1978. Won 4th place in the Best Looking Indian of the Century based on a 45-day Internet survey by newspaper, The Times of India.

Speaks fluent Hindi, English and Italian. He recently completed a 200 episode Italian radio drama for the country's most listened to radio station.

In the Italian tv shows "Un medico in famiglia" (1998) and "Vivere" (1999) he plays in Italian
